The queen-sized headboard stands 60" tall. With the top overhang, it is 68" wide. It will be the center point for a beautiful country bedroom.
This headboard can be build by a beginner woodworker! There are a couple of miter cuts for the center braces, but the plans are very clear how to make them. See more in our review below.
This plan was added to the Kreg Tool Company collection of FREE pocket hole plans in February, 2015. It is a wonderful addition!

The woodworking power tools you need for this pocket hole headboard are:
- circular saw or jig saw;
- miter saw;* and
*You will need to miter the ends of the cross braces. The easiest way to do this is with a miter saw. But these cuts could also be made with a circular saw or jig saw. You would have to use a square to get the right angles, and your cuts would have to be very accurate!
As with every Kreg plan, we strongly encourage you to protect your eyes with safety glasses when using any power tools.

Our Hints, Tips and Recommendations.
THIS PLAN IS NOT DIFFICULT! Each step of these plans, from purchasing the materials, to cutting the wood, to the right order of assembly, is laid out very clearly. You may want to build something smaller to start, but a careful beginner woodworker could build these queen headboard plans!
The only part that takes this plan up one step are the miter cuts on the bracing. A miter saw would make these cuts very easily, but if you don't have access to a miter saw, there are alternatives. Once you have the interior frame assembled, you can lay the brace pieces in place, them draw the lines to cut. Those cuts could then be CAREFULLY made with a circular saw or jig saw. This will make sense when you see the diagrams included in the plan.
So many beginner plans use primarily plywood - because it is usually easier to work with. It is nice that these queen headboard plans use solid boards for all except the bead board back.
This plan uses edge joinery throughout. A good face clamp is a must! Check out the Kreg AutoMaxx to help you get all of the edges connected evenly.
