Our Free Wood Projects
Finished With
Colorful, Real Milk Paint

Shaker arched bench is one of our free wood projects.

Making your own free wood projects allows you to finish them to match your home, your mood or your fancy!  It is great when your creation is totally unique.  And the satisfaction of a beautiful finish - both to the touch and to the eye - gives lasting delight!

As you review what we have done, you will see that everything did not work out as planned or envisioned.  Guess what?  You set that project aside for a bit, and then try again.  Those aren't mistakes - those are first attempts!

We hope you enjoy both the process of finishing your free wood projects, as well as the final result!

THESE STEP STOOL PLANS WERE FINISHED WITH MILK PAINT AND BROWN WAX

Finishing these step stool plans was fun!  But not perfect. . . . Learn what we would do differently if we were to try to duplicate the look.

Despite not being perfect, this step stool gets used everyday.  The scratches, dents, bumps and nicks from daily wear only add to the old, worn look!

WOOD DYE
AND REAL MILK PAINT

FOR THESE SHAKER FURNITURE PLANS

The wood dye was the first step in finishing this Shaker arched bench.  It created a depth to the finish, once the milk paint was applied.

The wooden bench was distressed prior to finishing, which added another visual element brought out by the real milk paint.
