Build This
Entryway Organizer
With Just a Few Tools!

This Entryway Organizer is One of the Plans Available from Kreg Tool Company.

This entryway organizer plan is a great project for a beginner woodworker!  Kreg Tool Company created this plan as part of the Kreg DIY Project Kit, so this plan uses all of the tools that come with that kit:  the Kreg Jig; the Kreg Rip-Cut; and the Kreg Shelf-Pin Jig.

BUT, if you don't need those tools, you can buy the plan separately.  We give you the link for that at the bottom of the page.

If you want to clean up your entryway, AND HAVE SOME HOPE IT WILL STAY CLEAN, this is an excellent plan for you!  It is designed to be built in sections, so you can start with the bench, and add the lockers and the cubbys on top as you are able.

 Materials List for Entryway Organizer.

Materials Needed To Build This Kreg Jig plan:

This entryway organizer plan is built in sections.

To build the bench, you will need:

  • (2) 48" by 48" 3/4" thick plywood;
  • (1) 24" long 1x4" board; and
  • (45) 1 1/4" coarse Kreg screws.

To build the locker section, you will need:

  • (3) 48" by 48" 3/4" thick plywood;
  • (50) 1 1/4" coarse Kreg screws
  • (12) 5 mm shelf pins.

To build the cubby section at the top, you will need:

  • (1) 48" by 48" 3/4" thick plywood; and
  • (25) 1 1/4" coarse Kreg screws.

If you are having the lumber delivered, you will need 3 full 4'x8' sheets of 3/4" thick plywood for the complete project.  Also, you could finish the front edges of the plywood with screen molding, which is 3/4" wide and 1/4" thick.  You will need (6) 8' pieces to do that, as well as some brad nails and glue.

The plan itself gives you some tips on picking out your plywood.  You could also learn more by visiting Wood Working Tips Plywood on our site.

You will use 1 1/4 inch coarse Kreg screws while building each section.  If you can't find them at your big box store or local hardware store, click on the link, or on the photo to buy them directly from Kreg Tool Company.

The Approximate Cost
to Build These Plans?

THIS IS AFFORDABLE!  The materials are in the stacks at your local lumber store - nothing fancy, nothing expensive, and nothing hard to find!

If you were to build this from sanded pine plywood:

The costs to build the bench are approximately $45.

The costs to build the locker section are approximately $60.

The costs to build the top cubby section are approximately $25.

If you were to use a hardwood plywood, such as birch, add $15 to the bench, $30 to the locker section, and about $8 to the cubby section.

To add the screen molding to all of the fronts, plan for another $15 including the brads.

our Hints, Tips and Recommendations!

The organizer plans from Kreg Tool Company are excellent!  A beginner woodworker could build this complete entryway organizer in just a couple of week-ends.

The printed plan is put together in sections, so that it is easy to start with just the bench.   All the information needed to build the bench is right there.  AND, I mean ALL!  It starts with a complete materials list, a list of tools needed, cutting diagrams, and numerous tips. Each step is very detailed, including step-by-step, colorful diagrams.

We recommend you read the plan through before starting, and then review the Project Notes at every stage of building.  The "Project Notes" and "DIY Tips" are very helpful.

This plan uses one type of pocket hole joinery:  right angle - which is what you use most of the time.  The Kreg Right Angle Clamp would make the job much easier.
